A random note from Charlie on the pantry door.  Love it.

My mom thought the boys might enjoy the Rock Party at the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology.  She was right.

They had several stations set up with fun activities to learn about rocks and minerals.  Many of them were over Cannon's head, but he still had fun playing along.

Many of the people working the show were kinda nerdy and they had a lot of nerdy jokes.  Charlie thought they were hilarious so he fit right in.

And of course there was some panning for gold.

We ended the day with hotdogs and frozen custard.

A perfect Sunday afternoon if you ask me.

september 8, 2012

I am officially a soccer mom.

Cannon cautiously began his soccer career this week.  Let's just say he is not too sure if chasing a ball around the field is the most fun thing to do.

First of all, let's talk about the uniforms.  If they are going to offer soccer to this age group, don't you think they could find uniforms that actually fit?  I mistakenly called it an outfit, not a uniform, and now Cannon calls it his alphabet.

Obviously Cannon didn't know the first rule in soccer is no hands.

He also didn't know that you can't just kick it once and then stand there looking all cute.

It is safe to say that his favorite part of soccer right now is snack time after the game.

We will see. Maybe he will grow to love it.  Or maybe it will be a short-lived career.  Either way, we are so stinkin' proud of him for trying.

project life: april & may

I'm still plugging away on my monthly project life spreads.

This is how April turned out:

I used a lighter color scheme to complement the Easter photos.  The entire left side was dedicated to all the Easter festivities.

You can't see it too well in the picture above, but that silver washi tape with the gold and white stars on it is my favorite right now.  Love it.

The RAD metal badge from Hello Forever was perfect for this spread.

And here is May:

The photos from May were screaming for the brighter color scheme that I tend to gravitate to.

I love the itty bitty bags.  They fit in the pocket perfectly and it is a nice place to tuck in some journaling.

This project has made me excited about scrapbooking again.  I am catching up a little slower than I had hoped, but at least I am having a lot of fun doing it!
